We’ve gathered answers to our most frequently asked questions so you can quickly and easily find the information you need. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, just call us on 01273 803030 or email enquiries@familyadventureholidays.com.

Your price covers accommodation, all instructed activities (with equipment), and the local excursions on the programme. At the Family Adventure Holidays Château, it’s full board with meals and drinks included.

You’ll get a continental breakfast, wholesome lunch and a good quality evening meal each day, with drinks included at dinner. There’s also an optional “seafood night” you can choose and pay for locally.

Yes. All holidays are self‑drive, so you arrange your own Channel crossing and transport in France. You’ll also use your own car for the included excursions.

At the Family Adventure Holidays Château, families have private bedrooms with private bathrooms (you won’t share with other families). Most rooms are simple, school‑style bunk bedrooms; a limited number of doubles‑bed and interconnecting rooms are available. Linen is provided; please bring towels.

Activities are led by experienced, French and English‑speaking instructors who are selected, trained, and appropriately qualified (including first aid). Family Adventure Holidays programmes are also inspected under Adventuremark best‑practice standards. Very young children may need a parent present for some activities. We are a residential centre, accommodating school children for most of the year.  Some of this team stay on to host families during our Family Adventure Holiday programme, all are very experienced with working with children.

The Family Adventure Holidays multi‑activity week offers a huge family programme from 3 years, with age‑appropriate sessions for younger children, older children and adults.

There are activities for children, for adults, and for families together, so you can dip in and out. Parents may be asked to supervise very young children on specific sessions. Evening entertainment is for everyone.

Days mix instructed activities (e.g., climbing, archery, kayaking) and local excursions, with evening fun such as quiz night, fancy dress or a family disco. Exact schedules vary by week and weather.

Absolutely! Our Family Adventure Holidays is designed to be a friendly, sociable experiences for both adults and children. Kids get the freedom, friends and fun they’re looking for, and adults the fun, action or relaxation they desire too (it is not always just about the kids!).

At our all-inclusive holiday at Château de la Baudonnière, children are invited to join our fun activity programme and quickly develop friendships with others their own age.  We have an action-packed programme for adults too, and as with the kids, our adults also make new friends!. Solo parents never feel left out, we even have some who return year after year.

We also know that every family looks different. That’s why at Château de la Baudonnière you only pay for the adults and children travelling, there are no under‑occupancy charges. And because everything is arranged and paid for upfront, you can fully relax knowing there won’t be any surprise extra costs during your stay.

For safety or operational reasons, we may adjust or substitute activities and timings, if a major change is ever needed, we’ll aim to offer a suitable alternative.

Our adventure holidays are designed for the whole family to take part with a range of activities to suit adults as well as children.

On a multi-activity holiday at Chateau de la Baudonniere, we have age-specific activities for children, adult-only activities for parents, plus fun things to do as a whole family, such as our tough-mudder assault course and Mont St Michel bay walk. But it is your holiday - if you would rather relax in the sun with a beer, then that's absolutely fine too!

Likewise, parents don't have to get involved in all the adventure activities on the Ardeche river family adventure, but parents do need to join their children on the 2-day river descent and overnight bivouac.

Both holidays are based in beautiful regions of France, and so if you would like to take a day exploring the area with your family instead of joining in with the activities - that's not a problem.

Please tell us your family’s dietary needs in advance and our team will advise options at the Château and during excursions. Contact the team by phone or email with your requirements.

Think active, outdoors and layers: trainers, waterproofs, sun protection, reusable water bottles, swimwear, plus a torch for evenings. See our packing list blog for a handy checklist
