Testimonials

It's a little late, but I wanted to write and say what a fantastic time we had at the Chateau. Everything about the holiday, from the Chateau, the personnel, the activities, the food (and civilised amounts of wine) and our fellow guests contributed to a brilliant holiday which will take some beating. The weather might have been kinder, but even that didn't really detract from the experience.

Just one thing: we came back so tired from our exertions we had to have another holiday to recuperate.  We look forward to coming back next year.

I just wanted to say what an amazing holiday we had in Argeles and what a great group of instructors you have out there! They were brilliant with the children and parents alike, taking time to get to know us, giving great encouragement and organising everything seamlessly. They worked incredibly hard providing the activities, lunch and evening events. We really appreciated the welcome we received and everything they did to make this the most fun holiday we’ve been on. The end of week video was an added bonus and a great keepsake.

I wanted to let you know that my family really enjoyed the week we had at Château de la Baudonnière.

As parents, we had a great holiday as the children were entertained and occupied, so they enjoyed the break as well.

Please pass on our thanks to all the staff who found nothing too much trouble and made the stay memorable.

Our family spent a fantastic week at the château in late July. On arrival we were greeted on the huge lawn in front of the château with food and drink, and got to meet the owner and his staff of animateurs and animatrices. All were very friendly and welcoming, and Nick the owner is a great host.

The staff are full of enthusiasm for every activity they run, whether it was catering for the adults, teenagers or youngsters. All were pitched just right, and as a result all the children quickly made friends.

There are so many facilities it would be impossible to get bored. Whether it was an evening tournament of pétanque, boule and Mollky, a raft building session or an interesting cider tasting hour, there is just so much to do.

We did so much in one week, it felt like we had been there for 3.

My Holiday Poem

The journey down was quite boring and slow, But was it boring there? No!

In France the activities were the best of the best, I would definitely

recommend the place above all the rest.

By Jessica Aged 8 (a new Year 4)

I took part in the château programme for families this year with my two sons aged 7 and 9. It was a fantastic week. There were a variety of activities to suit all ages and abilities. We ate well, made friends, enjoyed the magnificent grounds of the château and laughed a lot. Most of all we enjoyed the team of animateurs. Their enthusiasm and humour kept the week rolling along at a pace and my children even learnt some French.

I have never been on a holiday where the children have had such a fantastic time. The whole place is such a beautiful and safe environment that children can do their own thing.

The food was fab and we all had one of the best holidays ever! – Thanks to Lillie and her great team from all of us.

The château is the funest place in the world and I love all the animals there.

It was great to meet so many new friends and to do so many cool activities. It was the most epic holiday that I have been on and we are coming again next year so look out!

I really loved all the farm animals on the mini farm and the fact that you could visit whenever you wanted. The games room was great and had table football, darts and table tennis. We ate amazing french food, starting with croissants at breakfast, paté and salad at lunch and I got to try snails and frogs legs! The animateurs were such fun and I loved doing the arts and crafts, particularly the tie dye t-shirt which I got to take home as a lovely reminder of my superb week at Château de la Baudonnière.

All the staff were lovely and made us feel very much at home.  So nice and friendly.  We will certainly be looking to book again, may be the Ardeche next time!"
