Accommodation at the Château de la Baudonnière - As recommended by Beau Travel Magazine
Your family adventure holiday is based in the grounds of our delightful château in Normandy, where everything is laid on for you and your children, including all meals, cooked by our team of French chefs. The château is located in Les Chambres deep in the Normandy countryside about 8 miles north of the cathedral city of Avranches. We own and operate the Château de la Baudonnière with a maximum of 25 families in any given adventure week meaning families really get to know one another.
The programme itself takes place within our amazing and beautiful 100 acre estate that is packed full of great facilities. There are native forests, orchards, meadows, 2 lakes, a waterfall and 2 rivers and rolling hills which form a beautiful natural backdrop to our assault course, archery ranges, sports courts, aeroball and climbing wall, initiative exercises, tennis court and mini-farm. We also have large lounge areas with Wifi and a games room with table tennis and table football, astro turf pitch and home ball court. We have our own ancient cider press where a few thousand litres of cider have been made each year for centuries! This is the essence of the backdrop to your adventure week – natural beauty and great facilities!
Accommodation and all-inclusive
All rooms have private shower/toilet facilities. The bedrooms themselves are basic and only contain bunk beds and hard plastic cartons for clothes storage. A certain number of rooms contain double beds. Families either stay together in large family rooms or pay extra to have two rooms. Alternatively you can stay in our Woodland Village which offers two Tree Houses, two Yurts and a Woodland Cabin.
Linen is provided but you will need to bring your own towels and tea & coffee facilities can be found in many of the communal areas. You will be required to tell us what room type you would like at the time of booking. We provide an all-inclusive package with all meals plus tea, coffee and squash provided throughout the day. There is a civilised amount of wine and our own cider served with dinner and into the evening (together with beer).
