Essential Information & FAQS

We have tried our best to gather together a list of frequently asked questions. However, if you cannot find the answer to your question here we are happy to help so just call us on 01273 803030 or leave us a message.

I have a younger family which holiday do you recommend?

Our Normandy Chateau.

This is all-inclusive and once you arrive there really is nothing to spend your money on (until the excursion to Mount St Michel).  Children from as young as 2 years of age can join in their own activity programme, however we do ask that parents are present to ensure children settle and are happy.  We have a dedicated area with a sand pit, paddling pool,  house, toys, scooters etc. We will supervise some play sessions but generally this will be with parents rather than instead of.  We can offer child bike seats if you fancy coming along on one of the adult cycle tours with your little one.

Our activity programme goes up to 15 years of age (and then into the adult programme) with different age appropriate activities, so even if you have a family with a wide range of ages, there really is a lot to do for everyone.

I have a family with youngsters and teenagers - which holiday is for me?

How does a Normandy Adventure activities programme work?

We have a structured programme of activities which begins on the first morning of your holiday. Every day we run morning and afternoon activity sessions. We have specific activity sessions for children (children are divided into age ranges to make sure everyone gets the most from the session) and different activities for adults, and some activities are undertaken as families.  During the week we also take a trip to Mount St Michel to experience the breathtaking views and the excitement of quick sands.  Evening activities are also provided.

La Grand Ferme tends to be slightly more laid back with a few breaks in the programme during which you can relax compared to the fast and furious pace of the Chateau.  However please remember, this is your holiday, you do not have to take part in everything.

Are our activities instructed in English?

In Normandy our trained animatuers are French natives so they will introduce some French words but activity sessions are instructed in English. On the Ardeche and our Argeles programmes our instructors and guides will be English.

Children under 8 – what can they do?

Loads in our Normandy Adventure holiday there are certain activities which children aged 7 and under will be unable to take part in. We have created some fun, imaginative activities for those children and their parents to do together such as bread making, visiting the mini farm and outside games.

Our Opal Coast Adventure - is a half board holiday where we can advise you on what local attractions work for your family.

We do not recommend our French Med or Ardeche White Water Adventure holidays to families with children under the age of 8 years old although please talk to us if you have particularly active youngsters or have a mix of age ranges in your family.

What meals are included in your holidays?

On arrival we will have prepared a cold buffet in our restaurant. Each day will consist of a continental breakfast, wholesome French lunch and good quality evening meal. Breakfast will be the last meal provided on departure.

The Mediterranean Beach club includes 3 picnic lunches and 2 bbq.

The Ardeche White Water includes a bbq and breakfast during the 2 day descent of the river.

The Opal Coast Adventure includes breakfast and a 3 course dinner for adults and 2 courses for under 16s.

What do families do in the evening?

Our Normandy programme offers evening entertainment each night for the whole family such as the talent show, camp fire and sports tournament. You can choose whether to join in or sit and watch.

Our Opal Coast Adventure has a lovely bar and sun terrace plus a games room and plenty of open space for children to run around.

Our Mediterranean Beach Club and Ardeche White Water programmes offer some evening entertainment, but recovering from the days adventures tend to be the favourite!

Do parents have to take part in all activities?

No, this is your holiday - you choose if you wish to join in.

Do I need insurance?

It is recommended that families obtain travel insurance. Travel insurance is not included within the price of our holidays. We have a fully comprehensive travel insurance policy available to purchase at £25.00 per paying person.

How fit do I have to be?

You can take each activity at your own pace and join in whichever activities are suitable. If you have any specific questions that you would like us to answer please just ask.

Are flights included?

Travel or flights are not included within the holiday price but we are happy to organise return French transfers on our Normandy Adventure Holiday programme. Please contact us for more information if you are interested.
